ALLIGATOR BALLS AND COTTON CANDY: unmediated reality

I continue the exploration of multiple realities and popular culture. With my images from county fairs across America, I showcase the unique expressions of individual communities uncontaminated by global and national considerations. From alligator balls and blue ribbon wines to live sheep-butchering and pony rides, this distinct series explores the many inlets to American culture.

Some of these works are included in the exhibition Reality is a Good Likeness, launched by the University of Arizona Museum of Art, Tucson, Arizona.
